Fondue Friday – Perfect Drinks To Serve At Your Velata Party
Wondering what drinks you should serve at your next Velata fondue get together? I’ve done the research for you and found some great party drink options that go well with chocolate. Leave a comment if you have your own drink favorite to serve with Velata.
This Champagne Cocktail from Sweet Paul Magazine is the perfect pair to chocolate dipped strawberries and other fruit with Velata.
Champagne Cocktail
3 oz. champagne
1/3 oz. cognac
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1 sugar cube
1. Soak sugar cube in champagne flute with bitters.
2. Add champagne and cognac.
3. Garnish with a sprig of currants.

Wine is also an option for serving with chocolate. Take about.com’s advice on wine and chocolate:
- Dark Chocolate – Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Tawny, Vintage Port
- Milk Chocolate – Pinot Noir, light-bodied Merlot, dessert wines, sparkling wine or champagne for dipped strawberries.
- White Chocolate – Sherry, Moscato d’Asti, Orange Muscat.
Lastly, a mild cup of coffee compliments chocolate.

*Cocoa liquor, also known as cocoa mass or cocoa solids, is the cocoa that remains after the cocoa butter is removed. There is no alcohol in this liquor.
